Designer, Artist: Dave McKean, Rachel Pollack
Country of Publication: U.S.A.
Number of Cards: 78
Publication Year: 1995
Publication Status: Limited edition of 5,000 copies
Reference: Manteia, issue #14, p. 3

Description:
1995 limited edition book-and-deck set, with computer-composited imagery by Dave McKean and text by Rachel Pollack. The imagery was inspired by D.C. Comics’ Vertigo series of comics/graphic novels.

The Vertigo Tarot (2nd edition)

Designer, Artist: Dave McKean, Rachel Pollack
Country of Publication: U.S.A.
Number of Cards: 78
Publication Year: 2001
Publication Status: Limited edition of 5,000 copies

Description:
In this second limited edition of the wildly popular Vertigo Tarot, the cards and book are smaller, but the imagery remains the same. Created by Dave McKean, documented by Rachel Pollack, and based upon characters and settings from the D.C. Comics Vertigo series, this dark and disturbing set of 78 fully illustrated cards nonetheless offers fascinating symbolism and haunting, mesmerizing abstract illustrations in McKean’s trademark style.

Vertigo Tarot (3rd Edition)

Designer, Artist: Dave McKean, Rachel Pollack
Country of Publication: U.S.A.
Number of Cards: 78
Publication Year: 2008
Publication Status: In Print

Description:
Third edition of the famous Vertigo Tarot Deck and Book set, featuring characters from the line of noted graphic novel series of the same name. This edition is roughly similar to the second edition, but we are not seeing any evidence that this printing is being promoted as another limited edition (maybe after two printings of 5,000 copies each and continued consumer demand, they finally decided to simply leave the product’s publication status open-ended?).
